What Are Myths?
Dr. Pillai has often emphasized the importance of myth as an absolute and permanent reality—the opposite of logic and rational thinking, which can turn into disempowerment by keeping you stuck in a frozen reality. When you become aware of the archetypal beings (or Gods) and divine entities within the closest planets in our solar system (including munificent Jupiter), their unique qualities will be revealed. Remarkably, you’ll be able to acquire larger insights into their celestial super powers, which will automatically increase your intelligence. We have, in fact, a large body of scientific evidence confirming how meditation or even mere thoughts of the Divine can significantly change parts of your brain connected to higher knowledge. In other words, you’ll become more intelligent by reading the following myth of Jupiter. Through this new understanding of the planet of good luck, you’ll be able to transform your life, making it way happier and abundant.Myth of Jupiter’s Super Powers
The demons (or Asuras) were attempting to defeat the gods (or Devas) by causing delays and errors during the performance of a fire ritual in their honor. At that point, Jupiter—also known as Brihaspati in the Rig Veda—recited a special mantra that made the Asuras run away. The Devas were then strengthened and nourished through the offering of fruits, herbs, ghee and other required items in the fire. Shiva was so pleased with Jupiter’s dedication that he granted him the privilege of becoming the Guru of the Gods. At some point, even the Asuras or demons became students of Brihaspati. The demons accepted the teachings from the Guru of the Gods because they were unaware of his actual identity. In fact, Jupiter had disguised himself as Venus, the real teacher of the Asuras. For this reason, during the ten years of studies with Jupiter, who was also the Lord of sacred speech, the demons stopped arguing and bothering the Devas and humanity. When Venus found out about the betrayal of the Asuras—who had meanwhile become good—he became angry and left. The Asuras chased Venus, apologized and convinced him to become their preceptor again. By then, Jupiter’s work was done and he returned to teaching the Devas.
From Poverty to Wealth
By reciting Jupiter’s mantra OM GURAVE NAMAHA—the special sound waves for invoking him—you can connect with his beneficence and receive major financial assistance and wealth. Fasting on Thursdays while repeating his mantra is said to be even more powerful. (Please consult your physician to find out whether fasting is appropriate for you.) This is well illustrated in the following myth. In ancient times, a King lost all his wealth when his seven sons’ wives refused to give alms to wandering and poor Brahmans. Brihaspati—himself a Brahman—found out about the women’s lack of charity and compassion and cursed the King to become poor with his entire kingdom. To appeal to Jupiter and ask for mercy, one of the princes’ wives kept a prolonged fast and recited Brihaspati’s mantra. Her worship was very intense. Meanwhile, she also kept donating money and food to poor Brahmans. Appeased, Brihaspati allowed riches and prosperity to return the family and kingdom through a subterfuge involving the woman’s husband and his brothers. Soon, all the other wives also started to worship Brihaspati and fast in his honor. From that day on, having learned the lesson, they became generous and pious and gave alms to all the poor who came to their door. Sponsoring professional Fire Labs (or yagnas) and other rituals to Jupiter and Shiva can turn your life around—bringing a high minded and lucky approach to your well-being and prosperity. In fact, fire rituals are the fastest way to the Divine for receiving miracles from celestial beings. Happy wealth building!By Donatella Lalitha Riback
