DateApril 12, 2018

About Akshaya Tritiya

Akshaya Tritiya is a popular Hindu festival that is celebrated on the third day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Vishakha (April–May). According to Hindus, the day of Akshaya Tritiya is a great day for making new beginnings, and any venture started on this day will enjoy success and good fortune. As everyone knows, making an auspicious start to something is half the battle won, so it is very important that we find the right Muhurat to launch a new endeavor. Akshaya Tritiya fits the bill perfectly as every moment of this day is auspicious. This is also a day when thousands of marriages take place throughout the country and even community weddings are held to facilitate matters for those who are monetarily constrained. Businessmen and entrepreneurs, too, make the most of this day to expand and venture into new projects.

Legend states that Goddess Lakshmi blessed Lord Kubera to be the custodian of wealth on this day. Thus, worshiping Goddess Lakshmi on Akshaya Tritiya can bless one with everlasting and never diminishing wealth. Chanting Stotras to Lakshmi can bring the blessings of the Goddess for wealth and prosperity in life. One can even chant the hymn every day to enjoy financial prosperity and monetary gain.
