We too metamorphosize as the cocoon of woollies that were necessary to keep us warm in winter are exchanged for the lighter airier fabrics that lift us into the new season. Thick stews and breads to keep our furnaces stoked are exchanged for light, fresh salads and detoxifying concoctions. Nature invites us to reflect her beauty and transform ourselves both inside and out. Bottom line, we all start thinking about how we look and feel; we get a spring in our step.At Vasantha Navaratri, the transformational energy of the Goddesses helped us with our spiritual spring cleaning. Now is the opportune time to enhance your beauty energies and reclaim your youthful vim and vigor.

At the core of beauty is Light. A child is pure and fresh and carrying the spark of the divine when it is born. Even with imperfect features, the child is beautiful. As we grow aged and our karmas become active, we develop wrinkles, frowns, big bellies, and so on; we block and lessen our own divine aura. You can access the divine beauty and divine youthfulness, no matter what your chronological age or gender, that you had as a child...and more so. Lighten up!
Friday, April 16th - A Beauty and Youth Day
Friday is a special day to honour all goddesses. Every Friday at the Thiagarajaswamy Temple, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, there is a grand celebration for the presiding Goddess there. Friday is ruled by Planet Venus and Venus symbolizes beauty. Friday, April 16th is extra special as it has just turned over to spring and the day falls on a Krittika birthstar day, ruled by Lord Muruga, the youthful god. It is a perfect day to bring in the fresh new energies of spring at a unique temple in Chennai - Arupadai Veedu, that houses shrines in honor of the famed 6 Temples of Lord Muruga that are scattered around Tamil Nadu. This Chennai temple offers the combination of all 6 abodes in one, including a shrine to represent Lord Muruga from Thiruchendur, identified as one of the most powerful temples for 2010 from the Siva Nadi Predictions.
Goddess Parvati
She is known as the Beautiful Goddess. Her blessings will bestow one not just with divine beauty, but also knowledge and wisdom. An abishekam will be performed for the goddess on Friday, April 16th. Fridays are Venus days and those with a strong Venus are known to be beautiful and prosperous, and have a love for beauty.
Lord Muruga
The word 'Muruga' itself is the synonym for incredible beauty. He is also known as Kumara the one with eternal youth. Saint Arunagiri has sung that even four thousand eyes are not enough to see and admire the beauty of Lord Muruga at Thiruchendur. Lord Muruga rules the planet Mars and anyone with a strong Mars in their
birth chart is usually attractive to look at and full of youthful energy. An authentic 6-faced Rudraksha from Nepal will be energized in the rituals and sent to you laced on traditional red cord to wear around your neck, but can also carry it with you in your pocket or purse, or place it on an alter or dressing table. If wearing, it is best if tied so that the bead rests on the hollow where your collar bones meet in the center. The number 6 is Lord Muruga's number. The poojas will be performed on Friday, March 16th which falls on the Krittika star day, a star ruled by Lord Muruga. We offer you participation in poojas at all 6 shrines as well as a 7th for Lord Ganesh to begin the rituals.
The Beauty and Youthfulness Package on Friday, April 16th, will allow you to access the energies of beauty and youth and to support and celebrate your spring metamorphosis.
