Akshaya Tritiya is on the third day of the month of Vaisakha. It is considered to be a very auspicious day to begin a new venture. Akshaya Tritiya is also known as Akha Teej. Akshaya Tritiya 2021 is very significant for Hindus and Jains. Apart from performing Poojas and various rituals and praying for divine blessings, devotees also feast on certain traditional delicacies. Though traditionally, people observe a fast and worship Lord Vishnu by offering rice grains, they also enjoy some lip-smacking delicacies on this occasion. Here are some of the healthy and traditional snacks that people prepare and eat on Akshaya Tritiya day. Chaklis This is a deep-fried snack made using rice flour, wheat flour, and gram flour, or a mixture of lentil flours. It can be lightly spiced with turmeric and chili powder. Lauki Halwa Lauki Halwa is also called Dudhi halwa. It is a sweet Indian dessert and is made of bottle gourd. Not many are fond of this vegetable, but this dish is really tasty. Gujiyas Gujia is a sweet dumpling. It is made mainly on Holi, but it is also made for Akshaya Tritya. Made with a covering of all-purpose flour, it is stuffed with mawa and dry fruits. Healthy Malpua This is a mouth-watering Indian dessert. Malpua is a pancake that is prepared with refined flour and milk. It is deep-fried in oil and dunked in sugar syrup. Dry fruits are used to garnish it. It is quite easy to make and is usually made on festive or celebratory occasions. Puran Poli Puran Poli is a sweet flatbread with a sweet lentil filling. Shrikhand Shrikhand is a delicious and simple dessert. It is made using thick yogurt flavored with sugar, cardamom, and saffron. Fruit purees can also be used to flavor it. It is made by simply whisking strained yogurt, cardamom powder, sugar, and saffron-soaked milk. Thalipeeth Thalipeeth is a spiced flat bread made with multigrain flour. It is a healthy, tasty, and nutritious breakfast or snack. It is very popular in Marathi cuisine. It is prepared using rice, bajra, wheat, jowar, and besan flour. It has a savory taste mostly and can be served with butter or curd. Modak Modaks are steamed dumplings. They are made of rice flour dough and coconut-jaggery stuffing.
