Sri Rama Navami Signifies Sri Rama's Birthday

Sri Rama Navami signifies Sri Rama's Birthday and this year falls on March 24, the last day of Vasantha Navaratri. Sri Rama is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is known for his compassion towards human beings. 'Ra-Ma' is an unparalleled mantra which attracts wealth and provides you protection from evil. Even the mighty Lord Shiva once told his wife Parvathi that the easiest way to attain the highest in spiritual and material domains is by praying to Lord Rama and chanting his name. Lord Shiva went to the extent of saying that this is equivalent to even chanting the sacred Vishnu Sahasranama.
The mantra to chant: "Om Sri Rama Jayam"
Sri Rama embodies highest purity. He destroyed the demon king Ravana which stands for all that is evil in our daily lives. Rama Navami presents a great opportunity to pray to Lord Rama for material and spiritual progress. Lord Anjaneya or Lord Hanuman is absolutely dedicated to Lord Rama and blesses whoever prays to Lord Rama on this day. It is said wherever the holy name of Sri Rama is chanted Lord Hanuman is there to sort out your problems.

The Sun has a close to connection to Sri Rama. The word 'Ra' means 'brilliance of Sun' and is customary to invoke Sun before starting the prayers for Lord Rama. AstroVed is organizing special pooja and abishekam for Lord Rama, Lord Hanuman, Sita (Rama's consort), and Lakshmana (Rama's brother) in our Temple and Homa Center in Chennai. It is said that one who offers his sincere prayers to Lord Rama on his birthday will be protected from all vices in life and will be blessed with unlimited wealth.
