Why is Akshaya Tritiya the Most Auspicious Day for Marriage?

Introduction:

One of the most iconic celebrations of Hindus is Akshaya Tritiya, the symbol of growth, prosperity, and happiness. It is celebrated on 26th April 2020. According to the legends, the celestial marriage took place on the day of Akshaya Tritiya 2020 between Goddess Madhura married God Sundaresha, who was an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It is important to donate a mud pot to a Lord Shiva temple and perform “Rudrabhishek” for Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The ritual starts by holding the coconut in the hands and praying the favorite deity in mind. The Prohit or the Godman, would tell the gotra and make the couple ambulate the holy banyan tree for seven times. The coconut should then be left beneath the tree, which symbolizes the obstacles that are gotten rid of a person.

The demand for performing marriages on this special day of Akshaya Tritiya has gained a lot of significance over the years, and the tithi of Akshaya Tritiya witnesses several marriages. As there the entire day is auspicious, there is no necessity to look for the particular auspicious time. Almost all the wedding halls, marriage vendors and other professionals related to the wedding are pre-booked.
