Edgar Cayce - Also called the Sleeping Prophet, Edgar Cayce, an American psychic, foretold future events while in a hypnotic trance. Several of his predictions came to pass. For instance, in 1924 he predicted that the stock market would crash 5 years later resulting in the Great Depression. Cayce tried to prepare people for the crash, but they ignored his warnings. When the market crashed in 1929, several people’s fortunes were wiped out, and many took their own lives. Cayce also predicted that the Depression would begin to end in the spring of 1933, which came true as well.

Mark Twain - Mark Twain, the American humorist and writer, was born on November 30th, 1835. Two weeks before his birth, Halley’s Comet passed by Earth. Twain made a bizarre prediction about his death that came to pass. He told Albert Paine, his biographer, a year before his death, “I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it.” Twain succumbed to a heart attack on April 21st, 1910, one day after Halley’s comet came nearest to Earth.

Alec Guinness – James Dean was the hero of the cult film, “Rebel Without a Cause.” In 1955, he met Alec Guinness, the Oscar-winning actor, outside a Los Angeles restaurant. Showing off his new Porsche Spyder to Guinness, Dean bragged that it could reach great speeds. Guinness later claimed that he told Dean not to get into the car as he would be dead within the week if he did. Dean laughed it off. The following Friday, Guinness’ prediction came true, as Dean died in a ghastly accident. He was only 24 years old.

Morgan Robertson – This American writer was the author of the 1898 novella “Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan” It is based on the sinking of an enormous fictional ship called the SS Titan which was considered unsinkable. Fourteen years later, fiction became fact when the RMS Titanic - an enormous, “unsinkable” British ship – hit an iceberg and sank. The details in both the story and that of the real-life incident are very similar. The ship in the story was named the Titan; it lacked enough lifeboats and hit an iceberg on an April night in the North Atlantic. All these details are eerily similar to the Titanic ship as well.

Baba Vanga/Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova (3 October 1911 – 11 August 1996) – She was a Bulgarian mystic and healer who is also called the Nostradamus of the Balkans. In the late 1970s and 1980s, she became famous in Eastern Europe for her clairvoyance and precognition. She supposedly acquired prophetic abilities after a severe storm that made her blind at the age of 12 years. She had predicted the 9/11 attacks and the war in Ukraine. Her 2024 predictions include Putin’s assassination, heightened terrorism in Europe, climate disasters, economic crisis, cyber attacks, advances in AI and quantum computing, breakthroughs in cancer and Alzheimer cures.

 Michel de Nostredame (December 1503 – July 1566) – Also called Nostradamus, he was a 16th-century French astrologer, apothecary, physician, and reputed seer, who wrote the book Les Prophéties (published in 1555). It is a collection of 942 poetic quatrains that predicted future events.

His writings have been interpreted in different ways. His predictions include the Great Fire of London, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the rise of Adolf Hitler, etc.
