The Architecture of the Santura Devi Temple

Jagat Singh Negi built the Santura Devi Temple after having a vision of the deity in his dream. Visitors can walk on the clear pathway from the base to the top of the temple. Green trees cover either side of the path. They walk over 800 meters, reach the hilltop, and climb some steps to reach the main shrine.

The temple has a small gate and is dome-shaped. The glass doors cover the entire temple with wooden strips. A giant bell hangs before the entrance of the temple. The sanctum is in the vast hall. Marble tiles adorn the temple's floor. A small wooden door separates the sanctum from the hall. The presiding deity is Santura Devi, a form of Durga, who graces the sanctum with eight hands, each holding a divine weapon. She is in a standing posture. Jewels and flowers adorn her. A Shikhara is above the sanctum. The sanctum has small wooden doors. There are also small shrines for other goddesses within the temple.
