Maa Trikuta Temple or Trikuta Mandir is located in Kunhadi, Kota, Rajasthan. This is a famous temple in the city. Its architecture is the main attraction. It took twelve years to complete the construction of the Trikuta Mandir.
The legend of the Trikuta Mandir is closely associated with Maa Vaishnav Devi. She was initially called Trikuta. When Vaishnav Devi was nine years old, she performed penance for Rama on the seashore. At that time, Rama passed the shore looking for Sita, who had been abducted by the demon Ravana.
Seeing the girl Trikuta deeply immersed in prayer, he blessed her. Trikuta told him that she had accepted him as her husband. However, since Rama was faithful to Sita, he could not wed another. Moved by her devotion, he gave her the name Vaishnavi. He promised her that he would marry her during his Kalki avatar in Kaliyuga. Rama also told her to meditate in a cave in the Trikuta range and blessed her with a bow and arrow, a lion, and a small army of monkeys to protect herself.
Maa Vaishnav Devi is the presiding deity of the Trikuta Mandir, an incarnation of Durga. The Trikuta Mandir was officially opened to devotees in November 2021. It is designed and developed in the form of caves and hills, and it is a replica of the Maa Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir.
Sculptures of two huge lions and elephants are on both sides of the temple's entrance gate. It took over 12 years to complete it.
The Trikuta Mandir Sanctum houses Maa Vaishnav Devi's idol, which completely resembles the idol of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra.
The main attraction of Trikuta Mandir is the huge sculpture of Shiva at the center of the temple premises. Natural-looking caves, waterfalls, animals, trees, stone carvings, and various statues of Hindu deities Hanuman and Parvati are other attractions. The temple of Charan Paduka is also located in Trikuta Mandir.
