This chapter will provide a description of the prime two kinds of human nature: saintly and demonic. Shri Krishna will explain how a person can develop saintly nature. He explains that how a soul achieves goodness with spiritual practices and ways prescribed in the scriptures.

All these activities lead a person to God-realization, which infuses him with God-like traits gradually. This is how the purification of the soul takes place.

Shri Krishan also explains the person with demonic nature. Krishna tells how such a soul is always attached to worldly things and gets more juggled toward attachment and never gets liberation. The Lord tells about those endowed with a divine nature; he suggests to stay away from demonic nature, and those demonic qualities should be inspected and closed gradually.

Anegudde Vinayaka

Let’s understand the teaching between Krishna and Arjun-

The Supreme Divine Personality said: O scion of Bharat, those with a divine nature are naturally fearless. They remain calm and pure, gathering spiritual knowledge from all the sacred books and performing austerities. Such souls are non-violence; they stay true, have no anger, and have no fault-finding nature. These people live in modesty and are satisfied with what they have. They are gentle, forgiving, clean, and humble toward living beings.

O Parth, on the other hand, people who possess demonic qualities are full of anger, arrogance, ignorance; they are harsh and hypocritical.

Those who have divine traits travel toward the path of liberation in the same lifetime or life after life as per their merits. Those who possess demonic traits never try to understand God, and they become more juggled in the bondage of life and death. O Arjun, don’t worry; you were born with saintly qualities.

O Arjun, these are two types of people that exist in the material world. Now hear more about the people with demonic nature.

Those who possess demonic traits don’t differentiate between proper and improper, and they do what satiates themselves. They are not pure, not truthful; for them, there is no God and no runner of the Universe. They see themselves for their body only; there is no concept of soul and Supreme for them.

They consider themselves the doer of everything, and they have cruel intentions. These are misdirected souls and souls without any knowledge. These are hypocritical beings who are full of pride and arrogance. They might also find satisfaction in uncleanliness, and they always get attracted toward non-integrated things.

Such souls have endless anxieties and endless desires that even when they leave their souls, they don’t leave their desires. Such souls always take birth in this material world as per their intentions during death. They are always behind wealth accumulation, and for them, nothing exists beyond this material world.

These souls are always held in bondage, and they are surrounded by anger and lust. These souls continuously work to satiate their senses and also receive grief from their senses.

They are always toward accumulation, and for them, they are the owner of everything we have. They think that what is theirs’s today will be theirs’s tomorrow as well. They believe in destruction, and they don’t let anyone pass beyond them. They consider themselves everything and also God himself. They are in the illusion of being the supreme living beings, and they don’t value anyone else.

These are deluded souls that are full of such imaginations. They are only grateful to their sensory pleasures, and they are addicted to the world of Maya.

These are stubborn people who get arrogant due to their wealth. They don’t believe in making donations or thanking God for what they have achieved. No part of their wealth goes to God or the temples. They define their presence with their own body rather than a soul.

In their whole life, they only run behind things and accumulations. However, even after having everything of their need, they are still unsatisfied souls, and their hunger never goes low.

O Arjun, these are cruel people who remain in the vicious cycle of life and death. Due to their demonic nature, I always put them in the womb of the Maya world and make them live as per their karma. Such demonic souls always take birth in the demonic wombs, and they fail to reach me.

These souls are surrounded by the three gates of destruction: lust, anger, and greed. Until a soul abandons all three, it’s impossible for it to reach me.

However, those who are free from these three gates of destruction point their direction toward me. Gradually, they get to know me, and with consistency toward me, they realize God. Such souls become able to attain the Supreme goal.

Those who are always behind their desires neither attain true satisfaction and happiness neither Me. These souls always remain imperfect. Hence to attain the almighty, one must be absorbed in me; they should know the difference between right and wrong. A person should know that a soul and Supreme exist other than the body. They should indulge themselves in spiritual learnings and perform actions that are valid.
