Lord Rama is one of the revered Gods in the Hindu Pantheon and has received a lot of devotees. This festival is highly iconic across India, but it is also celebrated across the world, where the Hindu population has settled and has been living over a long time. He was the stunning example of how a kingdom should be ruled, and thus “Ram Rajya”, the kingdom of Lord Rama has set a benchmark. He too was one of the iconic kings of Ikshvaku clan, one of the biggest kingdoms in the history of the word. There are several shreds of evidence of Lord Ram’s life, and existence, where all the path traversed by him from Ayodya to Srilanka.

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh

Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama, and hence the celebrations would be top-notch, where valor and splendor of Lord Ram would be brought to life through the spirits of people. They want to want to worship their supreme lord, iconic king, and the Patron deity, who has no matches. The river of Sarayu is considered very holy, and people would like to take a dip in this river, before commencing the festival. Bhadrachalam, located in Telangana is referred to as Dakshina Ayodhya, where Ram Navami celebrations take place on a different level. The temple of Ramachandraswamy was constructed in the 17th century by Bhakta Ramadasu, where the celebrations for Lord ram is highly popular. Bhakta Ramadasu was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, where he spent a lot of his life to enhancing spiritual path across the people. In Bhadrachalam, the festival is celebrated for more than nine days, and is celebrated as the wedding anniversary of Lord Rama and goddess Sita as ‘Sitarama Kalyanam’. Sitamarhi, Bihar

Many people consider Sitamarhi in Bihar as the birthplace of goddess Sita. During the celebrations, many people from various parts of the country would gather here. It is one of the significant places for pilgrimage after Ayodhya and Bhadrachalam, where they consider it as a revered shrine of great significance. Goddess Sita is the patron deity of Janki Mandir in Sitamarhi. The goddess is highly decorated and given a lot of prominences during the celebrations.

Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu

Historically, Rameswaram temple is highly revered, as the “Shiva Lingam”, was built by Lord Rama himself to cleanse his sins of killing the demon king Ravan. He built the “Ramar Sethu”, a bridge to cross to Srilanka. Sri Kothandarama Swamy Temple in Rameswaram is world-famous, and one of the important Vaishnavite shrines in Tamilnadu.

Vontimitta, Andhra Pradesh

Sri Kondandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta marks a prominent place across the shrines of Lord Rama. The temple was built by two robbers called Vontudu and Mittudu, who had turned as great devotees of Lord Rama. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam conducts the festival here.

Shirdi, Maharashtra

Sai Baba temple at Shirdi celebrates the festival with a lot of significance. There are several festivals celebrated in the town of Shirdi, with a lot of significance and reverence given to the festivals. The day of Ramanavami coincides with the day, where Sage SaiBaba granted the boon of progeny. The festival is celebrated for three days, and with a lot of pomp and glory.
