A handmade Tulsi mala is more effective than a machine made. However, full three days will take to make a handmade Tulsi mala. A Tulsi mala is made using wood, root, and twigs of the Tulsi plant. After peeling the wood of the basil plant, it is cut into 108 small pieces. Making holes at the centre of the pieces, thread or string is passed through them. Once the process is complete, the Tulsi beads are threaded to form a Tulsi mala with 27, 54, or 108 beads. One can experience the benefits of Tulsi mala by wearing and using it constantly. How to identify a pure Tulsi mala?

The benefits of Tulsi mala depend upon its purity. To identify its quality, keep it in water for half an hour. If it starts bleeding the color, it is not an original mala.

The rules for chanting Tulsi Mala:

  • Tulsi Mala should be at least 27 beaded, 54 beaded, or 108 beaded
  • After each bead, a knot should be there
  • After chanting, cover it with a white cloth
  • Do not exchange the mala
  • One should keep separate malas for chanting and wearing.
When to wear a Tulsi Mala? Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the most auspicious days for wearing Tulsi mala. One should not remove the Tulsi mala under any circumstance. Wearing Tulsi mala is an excellent decision as the benefits of Tulsi mala are abundant. But, always follow the rules to receive the desired blessings and effects.
