Having an offspring is considered as one of the greatest blessings of life. It is also regarded as the principal purpose of marriage and family life. The intense emotions of the parents who bring a new life into existence and hold it close to their hearts, are something which cannot at all be described but can only be experienced. Children are considered the most precious gifts of the Almighty. Many are the reasons for people longing for progeny. Children satisfy the emotional needs of the parents and elders, while also continuing the family tree and the lineage.

This sloka is dedicated to Ganapathi, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. Ganapathi is hailed as a remover of obstacles and a harbinger of success, and is both loved and venerated.
