The Shravana Nakshatra is the 22nd of the 27 nakshatras with the planetary deity as Lord Vishnu. It is a heavenly nakshatra meaning “to hear,” “to listen,” and “acquiring knowledge by hearing, learning, or studying.” It is also associated with fame, wealth, and reputation. Prayers to Lord Vishnu will help the natives hear well about themselves and be protected from a bad name. It contains three stars: Alpha-Aquilae, Beta-Aquilae, and Gamma-Aquilae. The Puranas say that they are the three footsteps of Lord Vishnu in his Vamana avatar. The Moon and Saturn govern this nakshatra. Regional names of Shravana are Ananta, Thiruvonam, Hari Nakshatra, Apramaya, and Zravanna. It spreads from 10:00 to 23:30 Makara in the celestial skies.
