Aparajita is a creeping, legume plant belonging to a variety of vines. This protein-rich plant, with a base of about 5 meters, thrives in moist soil in temperatures ranging from 19 to 28 degrees Celsius and 1600-1800 meter altitudes and has much value as a pasture legume that the livestock prefers much. Many also grow it as an ornamental plant.     

Its flowers are of a vibrant blue hue with yellow markings, about 4 cm in length and 3 cm in width. Though the plant belongs originally to Latin America and Asia, it has now spread almost throughout the world, even to continents like Africa and Australia.
