DateApril 16, 2015

About Uttarashada

According to Vedic Astrology, Uttarashada is the 21st nakshatra in the constellation of 27 nakshatras. It is known as the universal star. It spans 26°40′ Sagittarius in the first quarter and the remaining three quarters are in 10°00′ degrees in Capricorn.

Sun is the ruling planet of this nakshatra. Its symbol is a tusk of an elephant.

Characteristics of Uttarashada Nakshatra

The presiding deity is Viswadevas or the 10 universal Gods. The benign influence of these deities bestows power, support and recognition not from the self-efforts of the natives, but with unified alliances and support of the ten gods.

The meaning of this nakshatra is “The latter unconquered”, “The latter invincible”. The power of this nakshatra is “Apradhrishya Shakti”- power to give permanent victory. The energy of this nakshatra bestows a pioneering, goal oriented and industrious spirit. This makes the natives take up challenging tasks to accomplish.

Positive Traits

Moon in Uttarashada makes the natives modest, pleasant, and grateful with many friends. Like the tusk of the elephant, which is considered of great value, these natives are greatly honoured and respected in society.

They also show strong signs of leadership, managing abilities and royalty. They possess good qualities like genuineness, forgiveness, brightness, positivity and skilfulness.

The natives are balanced and realistic and do not have unrealistic hopes and obsessions. They show and value traditions and beliefs and follow them. They possess a keen sense of judgement and discrimination, with the power to differentiate the good from the bad. They are persons of integrity.

The influence of Sun, the ruling planet of this nakshatra makes them –practical, disciplined, dutiful, responsible, full of energy, keeping up their words at all costs, and follow justice in all matters.

Negative Traits

Their overdisciplined nature makes them rigid and harsh at times. They show signs of becoming workaholic and become persistent to tasks that interest them. If they lose interest they become lazy and leave it half done.

Sometimes they are seen as stubborn, self-centred individuals, boasting and short tempered.

They also become sad, depressed and with lack of any motivation.

Remedies

The natives have to worship Lord Ganesha regularly to remove the problems and afflictions caused by the nakshatra.
