Uttara Bhadrapada is the 26th nakshatra out of 27 in the constellation. This nakshatra extends between the stars Andromeda and Pegasus. It is called the warrior star. The name Uttara means superior and Bhadra means great auspiciousness. It spans across the zodiacal sign of Pisces from 03°20′ – 06°40′. It is a fixed constellation which grants a firm foundation in life.
The presiding deity of this nakshatra is Ahir Budhyana, the serpent God, belonging to the depths of the sea and one of Rudra. The influence of the deity makes the natives look deep into matters and examine everything. The symbol of this nakshatra is last two legs of a funeral cot or twins.
