Powerful Shiva Mantras

Lord Shiva is one of the Trimurtis in Hinduism. He is the God of death and destruction. But he is also very merciful. Shiva has many names including Rudra, Mahadeva, and Bholenath. It is not very hard to appease him. One of his names is Ashutosh, meaning ‘one who is easily pleased’. One can please him by offering just water and bilva leaves as long as one’s devotion is pure.

Though he is the cosmic destroyer, he is also the most pure and auspicious. None of the 3 Gunas -Sattva, Rajas, or Tamas – has any effect on him. He is an impartial deity to whom all devotees are the same, be they rich or poor, good or bad. He is an innocent god who grants boons even to those who may be evil. Due to this, he is called Bholenath (‘Bhola’ means ‘innocent’). Though he is the Lord of the Universe, he lives like an ascetic, unlike the other gods.

If one has true devotion and dedication, one can get the blessings of Lord Shiva. He does not need you to make rigorous efforts to win his heart. The slightest effort, if it comes from the depths of your heart, can please him. He is also very kind-hearted and forgiving.

Shiva represents peace and tranquility. He is a “yogi” and mystic who renounced all worldly pleasures. He enlightens his devotees and helps them achieve success.

One way to invoke Shiva’s blessings is by chanting Shiva Mantras. There are many kinds of Shiva Mantras. By chanting them, we can be rid of illness, sorrow, and other problems. Shiva Mantras work by invoking ‘Shiva Tattva’ to eliminate enemies and obstacles.

The Mantras act like “Raksha Kavach” (protective armor). They can protect us from threats, dangers, and enemies. Chanting Shiva Mantras also helps to attract success and prosperity. Lord Shiva’s “Beej” or seed mantra is “Om Namah Shivaya.” Shiva Mantras have the power to remove fears and tensions. They bestow positive energy to deal with life’s challenges.

Shiva’s power lies behind all Shiva Mantras. “Shiva” means “One who is eternally pure.” “Shiva” also means perfection and auspiciousness. He is the “Lord of Immortality” as he conquered Death.

Simply by uttering his name, the body, mind, and soul can be rejuvenated. Shiva Mantras are said to have healing powers. By chanting Shiva Mantras, you can realize your wishes and attain Moksha.
