dateJuly 24, 2024

Vedic astrology predicts our destiny based on the positions of the planets and stars.

Vedic astrologers use the Sanskrit word graham to refer to the planets. It means “that which grabs or holds.” There are 9 grahas in Vedic astrology that influence human destiny. Collectively, they are called the Navagrahas, and they include Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Guru (Jupiter), Skukra (Venus), Chevvai (Mars), Shani (Saturn), Budhan (Mercury), Rahu (Uranus), and Ketu (Neptune). The last two are subtle grahas that do not exist. They are the lunar nodes or shadow planets.

Each planet is believed to emit energy, which has some effect on our lives. It can be positive or negative. In other words, they take hold of our lives, which explains why they are called ‘grahas’.

The Vedas, on which Hindu astrology is based, claim that each graha stands for a specific aspect of life and is ruled by a particular deity.

The ultimate purpose of life, in Hindu worldview, is spiritual growth, which happens due to our Karma or actions in past and present lives. This karma is experienced over many births, as we learn the lessons that help us to achieve spiritual growth. It is the deities ruling the Navagrahas who deliver these lessons.

If we have bad karma, we may suffer many hardships in life. On the other hand, good karma ensures a happy and successful life. This is how the planets impact us, and we can see their impact on us by looking at our birth charts. The planetary positions will reveal how our good and bad karma will play out in our current lives. Some people are likely to undergo severe adversities in life due to the planetary influences. To mitigate the negative impact, astrologers recommend the Navagraha Pooja.

This Pooja can reduce the negative effects and boost the positive effects of the Grahas. It can bring happiness, success, good health, and prosperity.

Most people choose to perform Navgraha Pooja at the famous Trimbakeshwar Temple in Nasik, Maharashtra, as it is believed to have good outcomes.
