Subramanya Ashtakam is also called Karavalamba Stotram. It is an octet composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya, which praises Subrahmanya/Murugan. It describes the divine attributes of Subramanya. Chanting it regularly can free one from past sins, Doshas, etc., and bring overall well-being. Subramanya Ashtakam has 8 stanzas, and each ends with “Vallisa Nadha Mama Dehi Karavalambam,” asking Vallisanatha (Murugan) to lend a supporting hand to the reciter.
