Sri Dakshina Murthy Pancha Rathnam is a Sloka that praises Lord Dakshina Murthy, a form of Lord Shiva. Dakshinamurthy is the God of enlightenment, who sits facing south and is surrounded by the sages. This Slokam is believed to have been composed by Sage Agasthya. Unlike most hymns which invoke divine blessings for wealth and other worldly comforts, Dakshinamurthy Pancharatnam Stotram is recited to gain freedom from ignorance, illusion, worldly attachments, etc., and attain siddhis.
