Mahishasura Mardini Stotram is based on the Devi Mahatmyam in which Goddess Durga takes the form of Chandika to slay the buffalo demon, Mahishasura. This Stotra is a very powerful and popular hymn that praises the Divine Mother. It was written by Guru Adi Sankaracharya. Chanting it regularly brings victory over calamities and relief from negative karma. It helps to invoke the Goddess’ blessings divine Mother and remove the negativity within us.
