Narasimha is the fierce man-lion Avatar of Vishnu, who appeared instantly from a pillar to protect his devotee Prahlada and relieve the world of demon Hiranyakasipu’s oppression. With his consort, the Wealth Goddess Lakshmi, he becomes the benevolent Lakshmi Narasimha. This ‘hymn of auspiciousness,’ generally chanted while concluding the prayers, can earn his Divine protection and compassionate grace, relieving devotees of life’s problems and blessing them with welfare and good lives.
