Bhairava is a very fierce manifestation of Shiva. Kala Bhairava is the controller of time. Kala Bhairava Ashtakam is a sacred hymn written by Adi Shankaracharya praising his attributes and blessings. In the hymn, Kala Bhairava is depicted as black-hued, naked, and wearing a garland of skulls. He has three eyes and holds destructive weapons in his four hands. He is also entangled with snakes and has a dog as his vehicle. Chanting or listening to Kala Bhairava Ashtakam can free you from grief, delusion, greed, poverty, anger, and suffering. It can also bestow knowledge and liberation.
