Chandrasekharashtakam

Chandrasekhara Ashtakam is a hymn that praises Shiva, the Hindu deity, as Chandrasekhara meaning ‘One who wears the moon on his head’. It describes the greatness of Shiva, his appearance, his divine qualities, and the way he protects his devotees. The hymn was sung by Sage Markandeya when he prayed to Shiva, seeking protection from the clutches of the Yama, the God of Death. Chanting Chandrasekhara Ashtakam daily or on Mondays can remove the fear of death and bestow a healthy life. It can also bestow wealth and Moksha.
