Energy is all around us. It can be positive or negative energy. There is also energy within us. Apart from our physical body, we also have a mental body, emotional body, and energy body. The existence of the energy body is acknowledged in Ayurveda and Yoga. The energy body’s health depends on the functioning of the energy centers in our body. These energy centers are called Chakras.

When energy flows smoothly within our body, and outside it, things go smoothly in life. When there are blockages in the energy flow, problems will manifest in various aspects of life. When the Chakras or energy centers are open, energy flows freely.

Energy has both a positive and negative dimension. The impact of energies is real. They affect us in good and bad ways.

Understanding Negative Energy

Negative energy flows from negative people, one’s surroundings, or from one’s own psyche. It causes mental and physical exhaustion. Negative energy has the power to perpetuate itself, so it can affect your health and happiness.

 

Types of Negative Energy

Let us see some of the sources of negative energy:

Negative People

People emit both positive or negative energies. We tend to pick up on the negative emotions that others project. They can be anger, sadness, hate, envy, etc. We can feel them even if they are not expressed openly.

Negative Environments

Some environments make us feel very uncomfortable. It may be related to the experiences associated with that place. For example, if somebody was killed or someone committed suicide there, you feel a negative vibe. Even clutter and untidiness can disturb us. Such environments have negative energy.

Unspoken thoughts are always running through our heads. If they are negative, your health and well-being will suffer. People who think positively fall sick less often. They tend to live longer and are not likely to suffer depression.

Then, they keep their hands on our heads to bless us. Through this exchange of gestures, we complete an energy circuit between the person who receives and the one who gives the blessings. Thus, the energy body is energized through positive vibrations.

How do energies work? Energies are based on vibrations. Take a light bulb that works on electricity. Here, the electric current is the energy, and the voltage is the vibration. Energies and vibrations have an impact on the quality of our life. Positive vibrations will be activated in the body when people act and work with passion, joy, and enthusiasm. In such cases, they can even lose a sense of time. Negative vibrations are generated when people lack interest in their work. Then, they feel bored and dull, and time seems to move at a snail’s pace. Negative vibrations produce negative energy, while positive vibrations produce positive energy.

Our thoughts and words can influence the quality of our energies. Positive thoughts and words can lead to desirable outcomes. This is why our elders tell us not to say anything negative. Thoughts are born in the mind, and then they become words. The words generate vibrations, which become energy. The energy attracts similar energies that are floating around us. It’s like the way radio stations work.
