Mythology of Vaikunta Ekadasi: Vishnu’s Promise of Wealth, Fame & Salvation
According to Padma Purana, Vaikunta Ekadasi is the day Vishnu took the form of his female energy called ‘Ekadasi’ to slay the demon Muran, who tortured the Devas (Gods). Vishnu fought with the demon for many years and wanted to rest in a cave. Upon entering the cave, the demon planned to kill sleeping Vishnu, but as he came closer to Vishnu, a young girl armed with many mighty weapons emerged out of Vishnu and killed the demon.
When Vishnu woke up, he was immensely pleased with the girl (His Feminine Energy) who destroyed the demon. He named the girl ‘Ekadasi’ and offered her a boon. Ekadasi requested Vishnu the following boons, which he granted:

What Will I Receive?
