The Birth of the Shakti Peetas
When Shiva wandered the worlds carrying the body of his consort Sati in unbearable grief, Vishnu released the Sudarshana Chakra to gently divide her form. The 51 places where her sacred energy fell became the Shakti Peetas, the most powerful seats of the Goddess on earth. The Chakra had done what no prayer could do: it had healed the unhealable and given the world its most sacred sites in a single act of grace.
The Eclipse at Kurukshetra
