Vishnu’s Divine Deeds Using Sudarshana Chakra
Sudarshana Chakra is mentioned in Rig Veda, the earliest of the four Vedas, as the symbol of Vishnu. This supreme weapon is wielded, controlled, and powered by Vishnu’s thoughts. Various scriptures have highlighted Vishnu using his Supreme weapon for the welfare of humanity, protection of his devotees, and establishing righteousness.

Vishnu Punishes the Deceitful Act of a Demon– During the Samudra Manthan (Churning of Ocean of Milk), Vishnu, in his Mohini avatar, was distributing Amrit (Divine Elixir) when a demon disguised himself as a Deva (Celestial Being) and drank the elixir. Vishnu beheaded this demon with the Sudarshana Chakra when this deception was discovered. The head and body of the demon became the snake planets Rahu and Ketu, respectively.
