Scriptural Significance Of Performing Pitru Shraddham
Shraddham is a Sacred ritual performed by experienced Vedic Priests with faith and devotion to honor your departed loved ones/ancestors. When this ritual is performed at the banks of Sacred rivers like the Ganga or salvation vortices like Varanasi, Gaya, and Rameshwaram, it is called Theertha Shraddham. The ceremony is intended to nourish, protect, gratify and support the spirits of your ancestors in their journey from the lower to the higher astral realms.

- The program will begin with a Pooja and Fire Lab performed to Shiva as Ramanatha (Divine Lord who absolves sins) at Rameshwaram- the Pitru Sthalam of Salvation, to help overcome the adverse effects of sins and destroy obstacles to progress, peace, and happiness in life
- Sand will be taken from the seashore of Dhanush Kodi/Sethu Theertham in Rameshwaram to perform a Special Pooja at Triveni Sangam (place of confluence of the Sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati) in Allahabad. According to Sacred texts, this sand is so powerful it has the ability to absolve even the worst sins, satisfy ancestors for an infinite period, and grant relief from all afflictions
- Next, a Hydration Ceremony will be performed to Shiva as Kasi Vishwanatha and Special Pooja to Goddess Annapoorni, Protectors of Kasi, at Varanasi with the Holy water from the Triveni Sangam, the three rivers which represent the three powerful consorts of the Holy Trinity, that can grant relief from the cycle of birth and death
