OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

Invoke Guardians of the Afterlife & Divine Sin-Dissolving Duo- Yama & Chitragupta
Deep Cleanse Your Sins & Afflictions and Gain Greatest Merit, Wisdom, Prosperity & Success

When we commit good and bad deeds on earth, two Divine Archetypes of Justice and Righteousness- Yama (God of Death & King of Laws) and Chitragupta (Divine Accountant), document these actions and determine the retribution of our virtues and sins in the court of Yamaloka, (Abode of Yama), in the afterlife.

According to the Garuda Purana, they have the power to dispense justice and assign the soul to progress to heaven (Swargaloka) or hell (Naraka) or allow you to take rebirth and accomplish more good deeds to reconcile with your ancestors (Pitrus), accumulate good Karma, and attain blessings for prosperity, progress and salvation.

AstroVed’s Daily Forgiveness of Sins Program
AstroVed has created the Daily Forgiveness of Sins Program to invoke the blessings and support of the Divine Sin-Dissolving Duo- Yama and Chitragupta, with a suite of 91 powerful services performed by experienced priests for 72 days (From Feb – May, 2023) to mitigate the adverse effects of past and present sins that create problems in your current life, overcome afflictions, and gain greatest merit, good health, wealth, wisdom, longevity, success and prosperity.

The program will conclude on Chitra Poornima, the birthday of Divine Book-keeper Chitragupta and the first Full Moon of the Vedic New Year, an auspicious day to resolve problems caused by our karmic entanglements and bring about positive transformation, and a new beginning for creation and manifestation.

Divine Attributes & Iconography of Yama & Chitragupta

According to the Vedas and Puranas, Yama and Chitragupta have unique roles bestowed on them by the Devas (Gods) and can help absolve the adverse effects of past and present sins, and grant Divine knowledge to enhance your good Karma, instill positive character traits and lead you in the path of righteousness.

Yama (Lord of Justice): Dispenser of the Law & Protector of the South

Yama is one of the Lokapalas (Guardians of the Realms) who rules the South direction, representing the cardinal direction of death and the underworld. Yama is also noted as the God of Dharma (Righteousness) who reminds people that their Karma, the results of their deeds and actions, will determine their place in the afterlife. He determines if a soul will go to the realm of the ancestors, be reincarnated back to earth, or enter one of 21 realms of Hell.

In the Puranas, Yama is described as having four arms, protruding fangs with the complexion of storm clouds, surrounded by a garland of flames, holding a noose (Pasa) and a staff (Danda), and riding a water buffalo. His noose helps him seize the souls of people who are about to die, and his staff symbolizes his royal authority to administer justice and maintain order.

In the Katha Upanishad, Yama is portrayed as a teacher to a devout Brahmin boy named Nachiketa. Having granted three boons to Nachiketa, their conversation evolves into a discussion of the nature of being, knowledge, the Atman (i.e., the soul, self), and the path to Moksha (Liberation).

According to the Rig Veda, he is a Guardian of Deceased Ancestors and a King who dwells in celestial light in the innermost sanctuary of heaven and the Bestower of Luminous Abodes in heaven to those who follow a righteous path.

Propitiating Yama with Sacred rituals is believed to help dissolve the fear of death, dissolution, and loss, grant courage and empowerment, prevent untimely death and accidents, and connect with the eternal consciousness to strengthen your resolve to perform your duty and engage in righteous deeds.

Chitragupta (Divine Accountant): Akashic Record Keeper

According to the Sacred text Padma Purana, Chitragupta originated from the mind (Chitra) of Brahma in secrecy (Gupta) after he performed meditation for 11,000 years and emerged with a pen and an ink pot in his hand.

Chitragupta symbolizes that invisible higher power that constantly watches over us, and meticulously and accurately tracks our actions and tallies our good deeds against the sins incurred in this life, in a heavenly database called the Akashic Records. This Keeper of Deeds declares the result to Yama for sending the soul to the plane justly earned, dispenses justice and punishes those who violate the laws of Dharma.

The Garuda Purana mentions the imperial throne of Chitragupta in Yamapuri, as he administers the Court of Justice. He is the Protector of Dharma who is omniscient and omnipresent, possesses supernatural wisdom and astute skills in the art of administration and maintaining records, and embodies justice, peace, literacy, and knowledge.

According to Sacred texts, propitiating Chitragupta can help attain his blessings to make the right choices, follow a righteous path, balance and clear our karmic accounts with greater awareness and responsibility, and bestow Divine wisdom, peace of mind, and prosperity. He is one of the rulers of Ketu, the Transcendental Knowledge Planet, and those who worship Chitragupta will be protected from the malefic effects of Ketu in the birth chart.
