What Is Thai Amavasai?
Thai Amavasai is the special New Moon in the Tamil month of Thai (mid-Jan to mid-Feb) and is considered an ideal day to appease your Pitrus. This special New Moon occurs during Uttarayana and is considered an important day to perform Thai Amavasai Tarpanam to appease your ancestral souls and receive their blessings for a successful and fulfilled life.
Significance of Thai Amavasai
Thai Amavasai is the first Amavasai which falls in the sacred Uttarayana period, the dawn in the heaven, and hence, is considered as even more auspicious for performing various rituals dedicated to the Pitrus.
