Lord Subramanya, popularly propitiated as Murugan, is a much−revered God of War and Victory, Destroyer of evil forces and Divine Protector of his devotees. He took a form that was prefixed with ‘Su’ and hence came to be known as Subramanya. He carries a Vel which is symbolic of Kundalini Shakti, indicating he is the ruler of the Universe. On Apr. 5, as part of our 365-Days Temple Poojas Program, during the powertime of the auspicious 6th Moon of Murugan, AstroVed will be performing a Grand Homam to Murugan with the sacred Kumarasthavam Parayanam and the Subramanya Ashtottaram Archana to invoke his Divine energy and blessings to overcome rivals, misfortune, remove fear, bad karma, resolve financial debt, and restore health.

Kumarasthavam is a sacred Stotram in praise of Murugan composed by Saint Pamban Kumara Gurudasa Swamigal. It is the Namavali of Murugan, and the Parayanam has the grace of Murugan and the power of his Vel, his Divine Vahan- the peacock, Paravani, and his consorts Valli and Devayani.
