OVERVIEW

Panchamukha Anjaneya: Powerful Protector and Saviour

Shani Deva is the Raja Graha for the year 2022, and his powerful position can impact your life to a large extent. To mitigate the adverse impact of Shani and enhance his positive aspects, AstroVed will perform a Grand Homam and Parayanam to a unique form of Hanuman every month, as part of the Hanuman Yearlong Program.

In May, the fifth month, we will invoke Panchamukha Anjaneya. According to sacred texts, this is one of the Virat (gigantic) forms of Hanuman. He is regarded as the most Powerful Protector and Ultimate Saviour who protects you from all adversities, safeguards you from the harmful impact of Doshas, and blesses you with success in every walk of life.

Origin of Panchamukha Anjaneya

This avatar of Hanuman originated in the epic Ramayana when he undertook the mission to rescue Sri Rama and his brother Lakshmana, from the clutches of Mahiravana, ruler of Patala Loka. Mahiravana was invincible as his life was preserved in five different lamps kept in five different directions. Hanuman assumed the form of Panchamukha Anjaneya, extinguished the five lamps at once, and rescued Sri Rama and Lakshmana.

Unique Attributes & Blessings of Panchamukha Anjaneya

Panchamukha Anjaneya combines the powerful energies of Lord Vishnu and Hanuman. ‘Pancha’ in Sanskrit means five, and ‘Mukha’ means face. The five faces of Panchamukha Anjaneya are Anjaneya (monkey−face), Varaha (boar− face), Garuda (eagle− face), Narasimha (lion−face), and Hayagriva (horse−face).

Each of the five faces of Panchamukha Anjaneya can grant unique blessings:

Hanuman face− Faces East, grants purity of mind and removes sins, grants happiness, and Ishta Siddhi
Varaha face− Faces North, showers all kinds of wealth, prosperity, or Dhana Prapthi
Garuda face− Faces West, wards off all negativity, black magic, poison, grants relief from ailments, and bestows Sakala Soubhagya

Narasimha face− Faces South, offers liberation from fear, protects from evil, helps stay away from sins, and grants courage, victory, and Abhishta Siddhi
Hayagriva face− Faces Sky, bestows happiness, well-being, zeal to achieve goals, grants Moksha, and Sarva Vidya Jaya Prapthi

Nama Ramayanam is the condensed version of the epic Ramayana by Valmiki. Comprising of 108 Slokas, it has seven chapters− Bala Kanda, Ayodhya Kanda, Aranya Kanda, Kishkindha Kanda, Sundara Kanda, Yuddha Kanda, and Uttara Kanda. Nama Ramayanam extolls the Divine qualities of Sri Rama. Parayanam of Nama Ramayanam can enhance health, memory, focus, grant protection, remove bad karma, grant good health, enhance spiritual growth, and bestow success, wealth, and Moksha.
