What is Garuda Panchakshari?

Garuda Panchakshari Japam

Garuda is the divine eagle and the mighty mount of Lord Vishnu, the supreme God of sustenance. Also known as Pakshi Raja, the king of birds, he is attributed to have tremendous powers and, hence, is worshipped as the eagle God. The Sanskrit word “pancha” means “the number 5,” and “akshara” is a letter. “Panchakshari” simply means “a five-letter word,” and here it represents a hymn named Panchakshari. Garuda Panchakshari is a powerful mantra chanted in praise of Garuda in order to seek the blessings of the bird God.

What is a japam?

Japa or Japam is the practice of uttering, chanting or reciting a mantra or hymn, or repeating a holy name, either in the mind or aloud. This exercise is believed to bring the mind to a state of placid tranquility and aid focused devotion.

What is a homa and what is its significance?

A homa is a Fire Lab. This is also known as a Yagna or Fire Ritual. Enlightened Masters consider this ritual to be the most evolved spiritual technology on the planet. Fire is chosen as the medium for this ritual, as it is considered a purifying and transformational agent, a form of energy that helps us connect with the divine. Fire acts as the bridge between the gross material world and the subtle spiritual dimensions. The Fire Lab is a sophisticated use of fire, and acting as a multi-dimensional communication technology, it is used to invoke different aspects of divine consciousness known as Archetypes or Gods, Goddesses and Angels.

Archetypes exist internally as dormant potential within our psychophysical system, as well as externally as supernatural beings with whom our prophets, seers and mystics from every religion were in contact. Every one of them has unique abilities that can transform our reality in profound ways. A homa, or Fire Lab, is the most effective way to access them.

How are the Garuda Panchakshari Japam and Homa conducted and what benefits accrue of it?

These rituals are done to incur the favor of Lord Garuda and involve performance of the Garuda Panchakshari Japam along with an archana, the Light and Sound Ceremony, in praise of the Lord and in the names of the devotees and their families. A homa (Fire Lab) is also done along with, at the AstroVed Homa Center.

These can get for the devotees the blessings of the Lord and help them primarily in curing all skin-related problems like skin allergies, infections, marks and scars. This can thus help them get back their pleasing form and good health. This worship can also act as an effective remedy against negative afflictions, especially for those incurred due to the harming of snakes.
