Ratha Saptami is considered the Birthday of the Sun God. In Vedic astrology, Sun is the King of all planets and is known as Atmakaraka (representing soul). On this day, the Sun God turns his Ratha (Chariot), drawn by seven horses, from the southeast to the northeast direction.
