This Interactive Fire Lab will be performed to invoke Ganesha in his form as Dhundhi Ganapati, a form of Ganesha who helps us focus toward liberation (or moksha) and energizes our spiritual studies and practices. The ceremony will be done during the beneficial obstacle removal energies of 4th Waning Moon phase. On this day, the Moon will be in Revati, a star of courage and luxury. It is said about Dhundhi Ganapati that he is in demand by spiritual seekers as Dhundhi means “searching for”. Dhundhi Ganapati helps us to keep searching for the highest freedom of enlightenment and to rededicate ourselves time and again to a fresh commitment to our spiritual path of Self-Discovery.
He is often shown with four hands which are carrying japa beads mala (rosary beads for praying or chanting sounds), a broken tusk (in one mytho-therapy story, Ganesha used a broken tusk to transcribe a lengthy sacred epic), a pot of precious gems called Ratnakumbha (symbolizing blessing for prosperity so spiritual seekers can have time and freedom to meditate and live with an alert consciousness) and an ax (for protection against interference from negative forces).
