The period during the one-and-a-half hours before sunset on every 13th Moon day is a premier karma-dissolving powertime called Pradosham. This Karma-Dissolving Ceremony will be performed to honor Shiva, the Supreme Archetype of Karma Removal. On this Pradosham day, the Moon will be in Ardra, a star spiritual enlightenment and learning. Ardra is symbolized by a tear of compassion. This star can help motivate us to take positive action to help those who are less fortunate. The ceremony today is especially good for dissolving negative Karmas that block our hearts from opening with compassion for the suffering of others. This prayer ceremony can remove obstructions that prevent us from performing spontaneous selfless service to others.
