Death and Dying
Tarpanam
Srardham is an elaborate, special ritual conducted for the departed souls, by our sanctified priests in Kerala. It includes a "Tarpanam" (ancestral) offering, but goes beyond, and helps their souls to rest in peace, and to progress even after death. If your loved one has recently departed, it is important to conduct this ritual on the 15th day after death, or on every death anniversary. Astroved needs at least 3 days of notice period, to make preparations for the ritual. To perform the Srardham on behalf of you, we advise you to restrict yourself from eating non vegetarian food till the 15th day of death (for whom you are conducting this ritual), and also refrain from visiting holy sites (although some church services may be unavoidable). Once the Srardham ritual is completed, you should periodically perform "Tarpanam" on the New Moon day. You can either do this on your own, or Astroved will arrange for a proxy (chargeable).
